- To be eligible for this course you need to hold an Electrical Work Training Permit from the Electrical Safety Office prior to course commencement. (Form 21 – see the ESO website www.electricalsafety.qld.gov.au) The Electrical Work Training Permit ensures that the student holds the prior knowledge required to apply for a Restricted Electrical Work Licence.
- The participant must hold a Certificate III qualification or higher from a designated trade
- Be registered as an apprentice in an electrical trade
- Or provide at least 5 years experience in an electrical trade
The course includes of the following units of competency:
UEENEEE101A Apply Occupational Health & Safety Regulations, codes and practices in the workplace
UEENEEP012A Disconnect-reconnect composite appliances connected to low voltage installation wiring
UEENEEP013A Disconnect-reconnect control devices connected to low voltage installation wiring
UEENEEP017A Locate and rectify faults in low voltage composite appliances using set procedures
UEENEEP024A Attach cords and plugs to electrical equipment for connection to a single phase 230 volt supply
UEENEEP025A Attach cords, cables and plugs to electrical equipment for connection to 1000 Va.c or 1500 Vd.c supply

Upon successful completion of all components of this course, learners will be in a position to apply for a restricted electrical licence. To apply for a restricted electrical licence you need to demonstrate a regular need to carry out electrical work as part of your primary work function.
Refer to Section 44 of the Electrical Safety Regulation 2013 (the ES Regulation) and the Electrical Safety Office Licensing Eligibility Policy for eligibility requirements for a restricted electrical licence.
